Winter has arrived, and with it the tradition and magic of Christmas. Our kitchen is a hive of activity and in the coming days we shall be welcoming geese from Woolley Park Farm, bronze turkeys from Ben Weatherall in Lanarkshire, and roasting them with all the usual trimmings. The full compliment of game continues in December - mallard, pheasant, partridges and venison reign proud on the menu - roasted, braised and stewed.
Homemade Christmas puddings, winter jellies and Banbury cakes full of Christmas spice offer something sweet, and our mulled wine and spiced cider are the cosiest partner to a crisp winter’s night.
New Year’s Eve brings with it another splendid feast, and we have suckling pig hog roast on early for party-goers, and a four-courser for those who wish to settle in for the night. Come and make merry and join us this December for a festive feast.
